ⓘ Independent guide — not a government agency. We never charge fees.

About Gov-Grants.org

Gov-Grants.org is an independent informational website about free government phones, the Lifeline program, and low-income benefit programs. We are not a phone carrier, not affiliated with any government agency, and we never charge fees or collect applications.

Why this site exists

Search for "free government phone" and most results are carriers marketing their own service — pages that dodge the questions that actually matter: which device you'll really get, how long shipping takes in your area, what the co-pays and replacement fees are, and why applications get rejected. This niche is also full of outright scams charging fees for free programs.

Our answer is simple: publish the facts carriers won't, date every claim, and link every figure to its source. When a fact goes stale, the page says so — and we pull it from search results until it's re-verified.

How we work

Every provider fact on this site (plans, devices, fees, coverage) carries the date we last verified it and a link to where we verified it — the standard is described in our editorial policy. We are reader-supported and may earn referral fees from some carriers, but we never accept payment for rankings or reviews, and editorial verification is walled off from any commercial relationship.

What we'll never do

Charge you anything. Ask for your SSN, PIN, or payment details. Submit an application on your behalf. Call or text you. If someone does any of these claiming to be us — or claiming to be "the government giving away money" — it's a scam; here's how to spot them.
