Assist Wireless Customer Service & Phone Number

The fastest way to reach Assist Wireless customer support: call 1-855-392-7747 (Mon-Fri 10am-6pm CT, closed weekends). Online help: official support center.
Before you call
Two minutes of prep saves a second call: have your enrollment or application ID, the phone number on the account, and (for application issues) the exact wording of any error or status you're seeing. Calling from a different phone than the Assist Wireless line helps when the problem is the device itself. For application-status questions, the online check-status page often answers faster than the queue. And if an agent can't resolve an eligibility issue, the fix usually lives with the National Verifier documents rather than the carrier.
Why applications get stuck, and the fix
- Application denied over a document, not over eligibility
Cause: Assist Wireless names the usual culprits directly: an expired ID, or a blurry photo of the proof you uploaded
Fix: Retake the photo in daylight on a flat surface with all four corners visible, and check the ID expiry date before you upload. If you know you qualify, call the enrollment line at (888) 295-7937 rather than restarting the application, because a second application at the same address can read as a duplicate.
- You cannot get back into a half-finished application
Cause: The enrollment account is separate from the customer portal, and after 72 hours it asks you to re-confirm your ZIP code as a security step
Fix: Search your spam folder for the confirmation email first, since a mistyped address at registration is the most common cause. Use the password reset on the enrollment site, not the portal login. Those are two different systems with two different passwords.
- You recertified but the reminder texts keep coming
Cause: Recertification can fail silently, and their own support page warns that continued reminders mean it did not go through
Fix: Treat the texts as evidence it failed. You have 60 days from the notice before service drops to prepaid. If you do not have your Application ID, call the federal Lifeline Support Center at (800) 234-9473, which holds the record the carrier is checking against.
- Lost phone quietly ends the benefit
Cause: Losing the handset starts a 30-day clock to add a new device before service is disconnected, and a disconnection inside the first 12 months can trigger a device recovery fee
Fix: Move a SIM into any compatible unlocked phone you can borrow to stop the clock, then sort out a permanent device. Their BYOD program gives a free SIM plus a switching credit, $15 for Tribal customers or 1GB of data for everyone else.
Common questions
What states does Assist Wireless serve?
Four: Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri and Oklahoma. Their own state plan pages list exactly these, and USAC's federal carrier data agrees. Their About page also names Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Texas as planned expansion, which is not the same as being live there. If you are outside those four, check your state guide for carriers that actually serve you.
Where are the Assist Wireless stores?
Almost entirely in Oklahoma, around 30 locations. Tulsa has seven, Oklahoma City four, Lawton two, and there are single stores across Altus, Anadarko, Bartlesville, Broken Arrow, Chickasha, Claremore, Duncan, El Reno, Enid, Midwest City, Muskogee, Norman, Okmulgee, Ponca City, Sapulpa, Shawnee and Tahlequah. If your documents are awkward, a scanned award letter, a name that does not quite match, this is worth the drive. A clerk looking at the paperwork beats three rounds of uploads.
What is the Assist Wireless customer service number?
1-855-392-7747 for existing customers, Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm Central, closed weekends. From an Assist Wireless handset you can dial 611. Enrollment questions go to a different line entirely, (888) 295-7937, which runs 9am to 7pm Central. Calling the wrong one is a common reason people give up.
What do you actually get on the Assist Wireless free plan?
Non-Tribal customers in all four states get 300 talk minutes, 300 texts and 4.5GB of data at $0. Oklahoma Tribal customers get unlimited talk, unlimited text and the same 4.5GB. If 300 minutes is tight, their paid tiers climb from $1 to $30 a month, and a $25 tier moves you to unlimited talk with 6GB.
Does Assist Wireless give a free phone?
Only on new Tribal enrollments, and only while supplies last. That is narrower than most carriers, and worth knowing before you apply. Non-Tribal customers at an Oklahoma store are quoted upgraded handsets for around $5 to $10. Everyone else can bring an unlocked phone, get a free SIM, and collect a switching credit for doing it.
Is Assist Wireless legit?
Yes, it is a genuine Lifeline carrier and appears in USAC's official list of Lifeline companies for its four states. One thing to read with open eyes: their own site publishes two different device return windows, 30 days in the terms and conditions and 7 days on the device help page. Get the window confirmed in writing before you accept a handset. And verify any carrier's status yourself on USAC's list rather than taking our word or theirs.
