Before you call Assurance Wireless
Have the enrollment ID or the phone number on the account, know whether the device was lost or stolen versus defective (defective units are usually replaced cheaper or free inside the warranty window), and confirm the mailing address in your account first. Replacements ship to the address on file and do not forward.
Your benefit outlives the handset
Losing the device never cancels your Lifeline enrollment. If the replacement quote does not make sense, put a replacement SIM in any unlocked phone you can borrow or buy used, or move the benefit to another carrier in your state. Keep using the number every 30 days meanwhile so the account stays active.
Assurance Wireless replacement questions
How do I replace a lost Assurance Wireless SIM card?
Call 1-888-321-5880 from another phone to report it lost, stolen or damaged; Customer Care orders a replacement, and you call again from a different phone to activate it with the ICCID from the new card. Assurance does not publish a fee for a replacement SIM. A lost phone can be suspended through Customer Care and you get 45 days to replace and reactivate it before the line ends.
