What you can do in My Account
Check your remaining minutes and data, see your plan details, update your mailing address (this matters: annual recertification letters go there, and a missed letter is the #1 reason free service gets cut), request a replacement device, and review your enrollment status. Some carriers also let you complete recertification directly from the account dashboard.
Locked out? The fix order
- Use "Forgot password" with the email or phone number you enrolled with, not a newer one.
- Check spam/junk for the reset email; resets often land there.
- Still nothing? Call 1-888-224-3213. Don't create a second account, which can flag your enrollment as a duplicate.
Common questions
How much data does SafetyNet Wireless actually give you?
In California, 4.5GB or 6GB free, or 15GB for a $1 monthly co-pay. Almost everywhere else, 25MB. Wisconsin gets 100MB, Kentucky gets 1GB, and Oklahoma Tribal households get 4.5GB. Those figures come straight from their own two plan pages. If you are outside California and data matters, compare carriers before enrolling.
Does SafetyNet Wireless charge an activation fee?
Yes, and this is unusual for Lifeline. Their plans page publishes $25 for states outside California. California is $39 but gets credited back to your LifeLine account once you are approved, so it nets to zero there. The SIM card is free and there is no early termination fee.
What is the SafetyNet Wireless customer service number?
1-888-224-3213, or dial 611 from a SafetyNet phone. English support runs Monday to Friday 10am to 11pm Eastern and weekends 11am to 7pm Eastern, which is genuinely later and longer than most carriers in this program. Spanish support runs weekdays only. Note their broadband disclosure page lists a different number, 1-888-898-4888; the 888-224-3213 line is the one published on the contact page and in the site header.
What states does SafetyNet Wireless cover?
26: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Their state selector and USAC's federal carrier data agree exactly on this list. Their own About page confusingly says 15 states, and they publish actual plan figures for only about ten, so confirm what you would receive before you enrol.
Does SafetyNet Wireless give free iPhones?
No iPhone is offered or priced anywhere on their site, and their online store is still marked as launching soon. The Lifeline handset is described only as new or refurbished, one per customer per year, locked to SafetyNet for 12 months. You can bring your own unlocked phone instead; they publish step-by-step SIM and network-reset instructions for both Android and iPhone.
Is SafetyNet Wireless legit?
Yes. AmeriMex Communications Corp. is a Lifeline-authorized carrier and appears in USAC's official company data for all 26 states it advertises. Two things to read with open eyes: their coverage page still describes service on Sprint's CDMA network, which no longer exists, and their homepage claims 27 years of operation while the About page copyright starts at 2013. Uneven site upkeep is not fraud, but it is a reason to confirm anything that matters to you on the phone.
