What each TruConnect status usually means
Pending or in review: the National Verifier or the carrier is checking eligibility. Instant record matches skip this. Documents needed: your details did not auto-match; upload a benefit letter dated inside 12 months with your name exactly as the agency prints it. Approved: enrollment is done and the device or SIM enters fulfilment. Shipped: allow the carrier's published window, then call with the application ID if nothing moves. Rejected: household-duplicate and stale-document rejections are both fixable, and reapplying is allowed.
Why TruConnect applications stall
- Approved in CA but no phone shipped
Cause: CA enrollment completes only after the PIN step: approval alone doesn't trigger shipment
Fix: Enter the PIN on the California LifeLine site or via TruConnect, then shipping starts.
