The three mistakes that delay SNAP applications

From the rejection patterns carriers publish, three errors cause nearly every SNAP-path delay: name mismatch, where the application name must match the SNAP record exactly (the benefit may be under another household member's name: apply under theirs, since any member's enrollment qualifies the household); stale letter, since award letters older than 12 months are rejected, so download a fresh benefit statement from your state's EBT portal instead; and duplicate household, because if anyone at your address already has Lifeline, a second application bounces (separate households at one address each qualify via a Household Worksheet).
